Ishita Sharma

Biography:

Ishita Sharma is an Indian actress, kathak dancer, social activist, and entrepreneur. While still in school, she started her acting career in theater and television with kid-friendly programs like Shaka Laka Boom Boom. Later, she had her big-screen debut in the English-language movie Loins of Punjab Presents in 2007. Ishita kept performing kathak, studied literature and psychology, and earned a Master’s degree in human development in addition to working in movies like Dulha Mil Gaya and Dil Dosti Etc.

Later, she transitioned to television, co-hosting Dance India Dance (season 4) alongside Jay Bhanushali and playing Anjalika Solanki (Anji) in the series Kuch Toh Log Kahenge. Using her artistic background, Ishita founded her performing arts school, Aamad, in 2014 and started the MukkaMaar project in 2016 to provide free self-defense to underprivileged girls. MukkaMaar continues to assist thousands of girls in India after being officially incorporated as a non-profit in 2018.
