Homi Adajania

Biography:

Indian filmmaker and playwright Homi Adajania was born on February 28, 1972. Being Cyrus (2005), an English-language psychological drama, marked his directorial debut. The commercially successful Hindi-language love comedy Cocktail (2012) was his next project. The satire Finding Fanny was then directed by Adajania.Cocktail (2012), a romantic comedy in Hindi, was Adajania’s second feature film. Under the name of Illuminati Films, Saif Ali Khan and Dinesh Vijan produced the movie, which was scripted by director Imtiaz Ali. Khan, Deepika Padukone, and Diana Penty, a rookie actress, portrayed the main characters; Kapadia and Boman Irani played supporting parts. Box Office India deemed the movie a success both domestically and internationally during its three-week run. Critics gave it mixed to favorable reviews.

The satirical comedy Finding Fanny, Adajania’s third film, was released in Hindi and English in September 2014. Shah, Kapadia, Pankaj Kapur, Padukone, and Arjun Kapoor were among the ensemble cast members of the movie. The movie enjoyed a consistent run at the box office and earned largely favorable reviews. Angrezi Medium, a Hindi film starring Irrfan Khan, Radhika Madan, and Deepak Dobriyal, was his fourth directing endeavor. It debuted on March 12, 2020, although its release was restricted because of the COVID-19 epidemic.
