Habib Faisal is an Indian filmmaker and lyricist. He is best known for directing Do Dooni Chaar (2010) and Ishaqzaade (2012).
Do Dooni Chaar, his first film as a director, earned him the Filmfare Award for Best Dialogue. He co-wrote Salaam Namaste by Siddharth Anand. He also penned the screenplays for Siddharth Anand’s Ta Ra Rum Pum, starring Saif Ali Khan and Rani Mukherjee, and filmmaker Shaad Ali’s Jhoom Barabar Jhoom, starring Abhishek Bachchan and Preity Zinta. They are all Yashraj movies. He also contributed to the 2010 film Band Baaja Baaraat, which was released.
Ishaqzaade, which was directed by Faisal and debuted on May 11, 2012, and starred Parineeti Chopra in her first main role and rookie Arjun Kapoor. The movie was highly welcomed by critics, performed admirably at the box office, and became a huge hit all over the world. Then he authored Bewakoofiyaan, a film with Rishi Kapoor, Ayushmann Khurrana, and Sonam Kapoor in it and directed by Nupur Asthana. His subsequent film, Daawat-e-Ishq, had Aditya Roy Kapur and Parineeti Chopra in the key roles. Daawat-e-Ishq was made available globally on September 19, 2014. The fourth film by Faisal, Qaidi Band, was released on August 25, 2017.
