Biography:

Ghattamaneni Adi Seshagiri Rao, known by his full name, is a renowned Tollywood film producer specializing in Telugu cinema. He is notable not only for his extensive career spanning over 30 years but also for being the brother of the legendary superstar, Krishna. Under the banner of Padmalaya Movies or Padmalaya Studios, a well-established film production company situated in Jubilee Hills, Hyderabad, he has produced several noteworthy films.

One of his notable productions is “Mosagallaku Mosagadu” (1971), a pioneering Indian Telugu cowboy film directed by KSR Rao. He has also been associated with successful projects like “Alluri Seetarama Raju” (1974) and “Vamsee” (2000).

The ownership of Padmalaya Studios is held by the popular Telugu actor G Siva Rama Krishna Murthy, widely known as Krishna, who is also the father of the illustrious Mahesh Babu and G. Adiseshagiri Rao. Krishna, with his distinctive appearance, including parted hair and a unique voice, exudes a strong sense of business acumen despite his soft-spoken and kind-hearted nature.

Having transitioned into active politics, Krishna has been a dedicated member of the Congress party for over 25 years. He has consistently contested elections from the Guntur region in Andhra Pradesh Lok Sabha Region and has also served as the Pradesh Congress Committee secretary.

His candidacy has received the staunch support of Sonia Gandhi, despite internal divisions within the Congress regarding his suitability for the Guntur constituency. Notably, his nephew, Rayapati Mohana Sai Krishna, holds the position of Mayor of Guntur, while his biological brother, Srinivasa Rao, is an active Member of the Legislative Council.

Ghattamaneni Adi Seshagiri Rao has also held key positions in the Film Development Corporation, a government agency established in 1975 under the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Government of India, to promote and support high-quality Indian cinema. In a personal milestone, his son, Sai Raghava Ratnababu (Bobby), became engaged to Priyanka Dadda and subsequently tied the knot in late 2015, marking a joyous family occasion.
