Biography:

Geetanjali Kulkarni, an Indian actress renowned for her work in Marathi and Hindi cinema, has been honored with multiple awards, including two Filmfare Awards Marathi and two Filmfare OTT Awards. Notably, she has showcased her talent in numerous plays, with a standout performance in the Hindi adaptation of “Twelfth Night” titled “Piya Behrupiya.”

Born in Mumbai, Maharashtra, India, in 1973 as Geetanjali Moreshwar Sherikar, Kulkarni is a graduate of the National School of Drama (1996). She has made significant contributions to experimental plays in Marathi and Hindi, including productions like “Mukkam Post Bombilwadi,” “Sangeet Debuchya Muli,” “Sex Morality and Censorship,” and “Piya Bherupiya.”

In the realm of cinema, Kulkarni delivered a notable performance as one of the leads in the critically acclaimed film “Court,” which garnered numerous awards. Additionally, she has appeared in films like “Anandi Gopal” and “Karkhanisanchi Wari.” She has also ventured into the digital space, featuring in web series such as “Gullak,” “Tajmahal 1989,” and “Rangbaaz.”

Beyond her acting career, Kulkarni co-founded the Drama School Mumbai and was associated with the NGO “Quest” for ten years, where she led the “Goshtarang” project, aimed at promoting reading and literacy.
