On June 22, 1945, Ganesh Patro was born at Parvathipuram, in the Vizianagaram district of Andhra Pradesh.
Indian dramatist and screenwriter Behara Ganesh Patro was well-known for his contributions to Telugu film. He began writing for Telugu films in the 1970s and 1990s, such as Rudraveena, Maro Charitra, Idi Katha Kaadu, Mayuri, and Seetharamayya Gari Manavaralu. He began his career in 1965.
He is well-known for his collaborations with Kodi Ramakrishna and K. Balachander, appearing in over 100 films.
He composed dialogue for a number of films, including Mayuri (film), Maa Pallelo Gopaludu, Rudraveena, Maro Charitra, and Nirnayam. 2013 saw him write dialogue for Seethamma Vakitlo Sirimalle Chettu after a 15-year hiatus. Patro also penned a large number of plays for Telugu literature and theatre.
On January 5, 2015, Patro, 69, passed away in Chennai while receiving cancer treatment.
