Flavio G. Cuccurullo is an Italian composer and multi-instrumentalist renowned for his evocative scores in film, television, and multimedia projects. Born on December 19, 1992, in Avellino, Italy, he began his musical journey at the age of 11, initially studying electric guitar and later expanding his expertise to piano under the guidance of Nina Dajan.
Cuccurullo pursued formal education in music composition at the Giuseppe Martucci Conservatoire of Salerno, specializing in Music Applied to Images (M.A.I.), where he graduated with top honors. His diverse body of work encompasses various genres, including symphonic, electronic, and contemporary classical music, reflecting his versatility and depth as a composer.
Throughout his career, Cuccurullo has contributed to numerous projects across different media. Notably, he composed the score for the short film “Number 23724,” which was showcased at the Berlin Film Festival. His work on the short film “Mom” earned him the Best Sound award at the international film festival Cinemadamare. Additionally, he won the Film Scoring Competition at the California Independent Film Festival for his composition in the short film “Mono.”
In the realm of feature films, Cuccurullo composed the music for “La via nova – Formiche,” directed by Michele Cinquegrana. His contributions extend to theater as well, where he arranged and directed music for the play “Fluxus” by playwright Clemente Napolitano.
Cuccurullo’s discography includes instrumental albums such as “Seven” (2016), “Vitriol” (2018), and “God Shaped Hole” (2022), released under Blue Spiral Records. His collaborations feature work with internationally renowned musicians, including Mariko Muranaka, Agota Zdanaviciute, and Audrey Kesseidjan.
