Erin Moriarty

Biography:

American actress Erin Elair Moriarty was born on June 24, 1994. Her most well-known character is Annie January/Starlight from the television series The Boys (2019–present).

She starred in prominent parts in the television programs Jessica Jones (2015), True Detective (2014), and Red Widow (2013) before joining The Boys. She has made appearances in critically acclaimed indie films such as Captain Fantastic and The Kings of Summer outside of television.

Moriarty was raised in New York City, where he was born,  She made her stage debut as Annie in a community theater performance of Annie in 2005, when she was just 11 years old. After finishing high school, she decided to pursue acting instead of going to college.

In her adolescent years, Moriarty landed her first professional jobs, appearing in the TV shows Law & Order: Special Victims Unit and One Life to Live. In 2012, she starred as Vince Vaughn’s daughter in the comedy film The Watch.

In 2013, she played Nick Robinson’s love interest in the indie comedy The Kings of Summer. In 2014, she played Natalie in the drama series Red Widow on ABC, where she was described as “a daughter destined to find out who killed her father, who once had ties to organized crime”.

She was then chosen for a supporting part in the 2013 sci-fi movie After the Dark. She also appeared in True Detective as Audrey Hart, the troublemaker of Woody Harrelson’s character, in a recurring capacity during the first season.

IndieWire named Erin Moriarty one of the top actors under the age of twenty in September 2014. She was cast in Ouija that same year, but after reshoots, her scenes were cut from the finished picture.

It was revealed in February 2015 that she had joined the Jessica Jones main cast on Netflix. In the first season of the show, which debuted in November 2015, Moriarty portrayed Hope, a college student whose life is turned upside down by the primary antagonist Kilgrave.
