Edward Fox

Biography:

Actor Edward Charles Morice Fox was born in England on April 13, 1937. His roles in The Go-Between (1971) and A Bridge Too Far (1977) earned him two BAFTA Film Awards for Best Actor in a Supporting Role, while his portrayal of Edward VIII in the television drama serial Edward & Mrs. Simpson (1978) earned him a BAFTA TV Award for Best Actor.

Fox is particularly well-known for his lead role in the 1973 movie The Day of the Jackal, in which he plays a professional assassin hired to kill French President Charles de Gaulle, simply known as the “Jackal.”

Fox has had significant roles in well-known British movies, such as Oh! Gandhi (1982), The Bounty (1984), What a Lovely War (1969), and the Battle of Britain (1969). Additionally, he has done a lot of work on the West End stage.

He is a member of the Fox family; he is the father of actors Emilia and Freddie Fox and the brother of actor James and producer Robert Fox.
