Dermot Mulroney

Biography:

Dermot American musician and actor Patrick Mulroney was born on October 31, 1963. His roles in a wide range of genres, such as drama, western, and romantic comedy flicks, have earned him recognition. Mulroney made his cinematic debut in Sunset (1988), and he became well-known for his leading parts in Career Opportunities (1991) and Young Guns (1988). In the 1990s, Mulroney starred in the following movies: How to Make an American Quilt (1995), Point of No Return (1993), Bad Girls (1994), Copycat (1995), and My Best Friend’s Wedding (1997), which ended up being his highest-grossing movie.

Mulroney starred in several movies in the 2000s, including Zodiac (2007), Must Love Dogs (2005), The Wedding Date (2005), About Schmidt (2002), and The Family Stone (2005). The Grey (2011), Jobs (2013), August: Osage County (2013), Insidious: Chapter 3 (2015), and Dirty Grandpa (2016) were among the movies Mulroney starred in in the 2010s, but his primary work was in television. He played Francis Gibson in the NBC thriller series Crisis (2014), Dr. Walter Wallace in the CBS medical drama series Pure Genius (2016–2017), and Sean Pierce in seasons 5 and 6 of the Showtime series Shameless (2015–2016).

Mulroney continues to work in television throughout the 2020s, starring as Chief Dom Pascal on the NBC series Chicago Fire (2024–present), President James Ritson on the Disney+ series Secret Invasion (2023), and John Carmichael on the Amazon Prime Video series Hanna (2020–2021). In addition, he starred in the 2023 movies Shooting Stars, Anyone But You, and Scream VI.

Mulroney plays the cello outside of acting. Spider-Man: Homecoming (2017), Incredibles 2 (2018), Rogue One (2016), Jurassic World (2015), Zootopia (2016), and Spider-Man: Far From Home (2019) are just a few of the movies for which he has performed on cello.
