American director, producer, and screenwriter David Filoni was born on June 7, 1974, and he is presently Lucasfilm’s chief creative officer. Before being employed by George Lucas to supervise the direction of the television series Star Wars: The Clone Wars and to write and direct a number of episodes, including the movie, he directed several episodes of Avatar: The Last Airbender. He was the executive producer, writer, and supervising director of the sequel series Star Wars Rebels.
Filoni is an executive producer on The Mandalorian, The Book of Boba Fett, and Skeleton Crew in addition to being the creator, executive producer, and sole author of the live-action miniseries Ahsoka. In addition, Filoni is the creator and executive producer of the web series Star Wars Forces of Destiny and the animated series Star Wars Resistance, Star Wars: The Bad Batch, and Tales of the Jedi. Filoni accepted a promotion to chief creative officer in 2023 after serving as executive vice president at Lucasfilm.
