Daisuke Tsuji

Biography:

Daisuke was born to Japanese parents in Kuwait, where his father was employed as an architect. Hisayasu (Yasu) Tsuji, his brother, is an editor and producer of documentaries. Daisuke relocated to Chiba, Japan, when he was two years old, and Sacramento, California, when he was eight. He went to American River College and Rio Americano High School. He graduated from UCLA with a bachelor’s degree in theater arts. Tsuji was employed at The Grove at Farmers Market in Los Angeles at The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf. He began his career with two theater companies: The Three Chairs Theater Company and Tim Robbins’ The Actors’ Gang. Before he started working as a professional clown at Cirque du Soleil, he was a party clown. went on a number of US and foreign tours, including Cirque du Soleil’s Dralion and Speak Theater Arts. Tsuji produced his own clown programs, including Clowns are Peoples Too, Limerence, and Death and Giggles. He portrayed a cave soldier in the 2006 film Letters from Iwo Jima.

The Los Angeles Theater Ensemble produced Tsuji’s 2009 film Monkey Madness, which he wrote and directed. He authored and starred in Death and Giggles that same year. He participated in over ten shows as a company member of the Oregon Shakespeare Festival in 2010. He went back to Los Angeles in 2013 to concentrate on cinema and television. He played Chief Warrant Officer Lee in the Netflix series Love, Death & Robots in 2019. He provided voice acting for the video games. 2018 saw the release of Prey: Mooncrash and Call of Duty: Black Ops 4. Tsuji portrayed William Shakespeare in the three-act drama Imogen Says Nothing in 2017.
