Indian director, screenwriter, dialogue writer, lyricist, and filmmaker Chethan Kumar predominantly works in Kannada cinema. The 2014 picture Bahaddur was his first feature film.
Kumar entered the movie business without warning. Through one of his friends, who worked as a playwright in Kalamandir, Mysore, he became aware of Tushar Ranganath. He collaborated with Tushar Ranganth on dialogue writing for the films Devru, Kari Chirathe, Gange Bare Tunge Bare, and Kanteerava.
His brilliance was recognized by music director Arjun Janya, who offered him the opportunity to write a song lyric for Varadhanayaka. It was his song “Baite Baite” that became popular that year, as Arjun Janya mentioned, and established him as a songwriter. Subsequently, he composed “Auto Raja Auto Raja” for Auto Raja, “I wanna sing a songu” for Sweety Nanna Jodi, “Bossu Nam Bossu” for Bhajarangi.
The featured songs for Rajani Kantha, Shatru, Pulakeshi, Jackson, and Ranna. Additionally, he wrote “Starade” and “Subbalakshmi” for his first feature film, Bahaddur (2014), and he is renowned for his introductory songs for all stars, such as Darshan (Jaggudada), Yash (Santhu Straight Forward), Puneeth Rajkumar (Anjaniputra), Sudeep (Hebbuli), and Ganesh (Pataki), among others.
Jackson in Duniyaviji; Sharan in Jai Maruthi800; Shivarajkumar in Killing Veerappan and Bhajarangi; Dhananjaya in Badmash; Charlie in Madarangi Krishna; Nikhil Kumarswamy in Jaguar; and in almost fifty other films. Before going solo, he had collaborated with directors Mahesh Babu, Preetham Gubbi, and A.P. Arjun. He produced the documentary “Yen Madli?” in 2012, starring Chandan Shetty.
Bahaddur, a blockbuster film, marked his directorial debut in 2014. With Dhruva Sarja, Rachita Ram, Hariprriya, and Vaishali Deepak in leading roles, his next movie, Bharjari, was a mega blockbuster smash in 2017.
The 2019’s biggest blockbuster hit is Bharaate, starring Sriimurali and Sreeleela. His fourth initiative is now being worked on by Puneeth Rajkumar. He penned dialogues for Yajamana, Orange, College Kumara, and Anjaniputra in the meantime.
