Chandra Siddhartha

Biography:

Chandra Siddhartha is a prominent Indian film director, screenwriter, and producer renowned for his contributions to Telugu cinema. His directorial portfolio includes the acclaimed work “The Inscrutable Americans” (2001), which received international recognition by premiering at prestigious film festivals in Milan, New York, Atlanta, London, and the Kerala International Film Festival. Siddhartha’s creative excellence has also been recognized with three state Nandi Awards for his notable films, “Aa Naluguru” (2004) and “Andari Bandhuvaya” (2010).

Furthermore, he ventured into film production in 1995 with “Nirantharam,” a film showcased at the Cairo International Film Festival. Siddhartha’s influence extends beyond directing and producing, as he has been a respected member of numerous film festival juries, including the 57th, 61st, and 65th National Film Awards, as well as the 49th IFFI. He has also served as a jury member for the Andhra Pradesh state Nandi Awards and the South Indian Cinematographers Association Movie Awards.

In his early life, Chandra Siddhartha was born to C. Poorna Chandra Rao and C. Sakunthala Devi. He pursued his education at Nizam College in Hyderabad and holds a degree in Telugu Literature from Osmania University. Siddhartha’s journey into the film industry began as an assistant director, where he contributed to the 1991 film “Jaitra Yatra,” working closely with Uppalapati Narayana Rao. His educational background and early career experiences laid the foundation for his successful and multifaceted career in the world of Telugu cinema.
