Bobby Kolli

Biography:

Indian film director and screenwriter Kolli Santosh Ravindra, better known by his stage name Bobby Kolli, specializes in Telugu movies. At the Santosham Film Awards, he took up the Best Debut Director Award for Power (2014). Kolli Santosh Ravindra grew raised in Guntur, India. Kolli Mohana Rao was his father, who passed away in 2022. Ravindra began his cinematic career in 2003 after earning a B. Com., working with writer Chinna Krishna. He then worked for a number of directors, such as Dasaradh and Gopichand Malineni. Power (2014), directed by Ravindra, starred Ravi Teja.

His 2016 film, Sardaar Gabbar Singh, which starred Pawan Kalyan, did not do well financially. Jr. NTR played three roles in his subsequent film, Jai Lava Kusa (2017), which made over ₹100 crore at the box office. Venkatesh and Naga Chaitanya starred in Venky Mama, which was directed by Ravindra in 2019. Even though the movie had mixed reviews, it was a successful business.

Karthik Kumar of Hindustan Times said, “Ravindra tries to milk the real life family bond between Venkatesh and Chaitanya in Venky Mama, which relies heavily on the camaraderie between its lead actors.”Hemanth Kumar wrote, “In his attempt to blend humor and sentiment, KS Ravindra (Bobby) turns Venky Mama into a bland drama, where the narrative moves from one set piece to another without leaving a strong impression.” Chiranjeevi and Ravi Teja starred in his next movie, Waltair Veerayya, which was released in January 2023 for Sankranti. Daaku Maharaaj came next in January 2025.
