Ben Bernhard
Biography:
Ben Bernhard is a German cinematographer who was born and brought up in Konstanz, a university town in southern Germany. He earned both his Bachelor of Fine Arts and Master of Fine Arts degrees in Cinematography from the German Film and Television Academy Berlin (DFFB). Over the years, he has gone on to direct a range of feature films and documentaries. In 2014, he was awarded a fellowship by the California Institute of the Arts in Los Angeles.
Since 2009, Bernhard has collaborated closely with filmmaker Viktor Kossakovsky and has also worked with Annika Pinske. His cinematography on the Peabody Award–winning documentary All That Breathes, directed by Shaunak Sen, earned him major recognition, including honors from the American Society of Cinematographers, DOC NYC, and Cinema Eye Honors for Best Cinematography, shared with Riju Das and Saumyananda Sahi.
