Ballu Saluja

Biography:

Ballu Saluja has over 20 years of expertise in the Indian film industry as a film editor and an Academy member (OSCARS). Ballu has no formal editing training. He has gained practical editing experience. Ballu graduated from Punjabi University in Patiala in 1994 with a degree in economics. Ballu began his career prior to the advent of digital platforms. Between 1996 and 2000, he edited numerous TV shows, advertisements, documentaries, and AVs. Eventually, Ballu began his cinematic career as an editor of several Oscar-nominated films, including LAGAAN (2000), PINJAR (2003), SWADES (2004), JODHAA AKBAR (2008), and DANGAL (2016).

For his work on several feature films, including LAGAAN (2002), JODHAA AKBAR (2008), and DANGAL (2017), he has received the Best Editing Award. ACADEMY AWARDS (OSCARS) chose BALLU to join the Editing department in 2018. The international Chinese film YI HE BU XI BAAN (Looking Up, in English) was edited by Ballu. He even designed the soundtrack for the movie Paltan. In 2010, Ballu even directed an advertisement for Ketomac Shampoo.
