Biography:

Badri Venkatesh, an Indian filmmaker and television professional, boasts an extensive and diverse career that spans film direction, screenplay writing, television programming, and event direction. He gained recognition for his work in various realms, including his National Award-winning short film “Vidiyalai Nokki,” the first Tamil short fiction to achieve this accolade. Venkatesh made his directorial debut with the Tamil film “Baana Kaathadi” in 2010, featuring Atharvaa, Samantha, and Prasanna in lead roles.

Beyond his contributions to mainstream Tamil cinema, Venkatesh has left an indelible mark in television. He has spearheaded a range of popular TV shows, including “Nalaya Natchathiram Thangamazhai” and “Amul Super Kudumbam,” which encompass a variety of reality show formats. Additionally, he is recognized for directing “Miss South India,” a beauty pageant that spans all four South Indian states. His expertise extends to event direction, being notably involved in prominent events such as the Celebrity Cricket League and the Mirchi Music Awards, both celebrated events in South India.

After a hiatus, Badri Venkatesh returned to feature films, directing the Atharvaa-starrer “Semma Botha Aagathey” in 2018. He continued his directorial endeavors with the release of the comedy-entertainer “Plan Panni Pannanum,” starring Rio Raj and Remya Nambeesan, in December 2021, marking his comeback to the cinematic landscape.
