Ashwiny Iyer Tiwari is an Indian writer and filmmaker who was born on October 15, 1979. Following a number of years in advertising, she made her directorial debut with the comedy-drama Nil Battey Sannata (2016). After receiving positive reviews, Tiwari went on to helm the Tamil version of the movie, Amma Kanakku. Prior to deciding to pursue a career in filmmaking, she was the Executive Creative Director at Leo Burnett. Tiwari’s romantic comedy-drama Bareilly Ki Barfi (2017) earned him the Filmfare Award for Best Director.
Ashwiny Iyer was raised in the Mumbai suburb of Mulund after being born on October 15, 1979, into a Tamil-speaking household. She completed her higher education at SIES College of Commerce and Economics after attending St. Mary’s Convent High School in Mulund. Nitesh Tiwari, a writer and director, is her spouse.
