Antony Genn
Biography:
British musician and composer Antony Genn was born in Sheffield, England, in 1971. In 1988, Genn began playing bass with Pulp for seven months at the age of sixteen. He played keyboards while on tour with Elastica in 1995 and 1996. He co-wrote, produced, and played guitar on Joe Strummer and the Mescaleros’ debut album, Rock Art and the X-Ray Style, as one of its founding members. Robbie Williams, UNKLE, Josh Homme, Brian Eno, Ian Brown from The Stone Roses, Scott “Walker” Engel, Jarvis Cocker, Inhaler, Lee Hazlewood, and others were among the artists with whom he later co-wrote and recorded several songs. Genn and Martin Slattery formed The Hours in 2004. The two had previously collaborated as members of the Mescaleros. Recent years Genn has written and produced music for movies and television shows.
