Anil Rastogi is an Indian actor who performs in theater, television, and movies. He is well-known for his parts in Na Bole Tum Naa Maine Kuch Kaha, Ishaqzaade, and Udaan. He was formerly a scientist at the Central Drug Research Institute (CDRI), Lucknow, and has performed in more than 1000 plays. He was born in Lucknow, finished his education there, and then pursued graduate and post-graduate studies at Lucknow University. In 1962, he became a Junior Research Fellow at CDRI, and in 2003, he retired as Head of Biochemistry and Director Grade Scientist. He holds a doctorate in microbiology.
He holds the title of Fellow of the Indian National Academy of Sciences. Since beginning his career in theater in 1962, he has performed in over 1000 productions of 98 plays in Hindi, either in their original form or as adaptations of other Indian or other languages, across the nation. For over 46 years, he has served as the secretary and general secretary of Darpan, one of India’s oldest amateur theater groups.
