Swedish actor and author Alexander Ally Karim was born Ally Kimbugwe Karim on May 26, 1976. He received a 2018 Kristallen nomination for Best Actor for his portrayal of Frank Nordling in the Viaplay/TV3 series The Lawyer (Advokaten).
He is also well-known for his parts as Ihab Rashid in FX’s Tyrant and Dr. Sigur Johanson in The Swarm.Following high school, he and his brothers relocated to the United States to attend City College in Los Angeles, where they all pursued acting training. Later on, he was employed in the same city at The Hudson Theatre. Karim returned to Sweden in 2000 and began working in the film industry. He worked with his brother Baker on his debut film that year, the short film Rampljus (Stage Lights), which is about an unemployed actor in Helsingborg. The movie was a huge hit and took up the “heavyweight” best film award at the Trollhňan festival in November.
