Biography:

Akshay Choubey is an Indian filmmaker, actor, writer and director who has made his mark in Bollywood and digital space. He got noticed as the director of ZEE5’s crime thriller web series “Mum Bhai” in 2020, which featured the underworld world of 1990s Mumbai and highlighted his proficiency in handling large scale action, crime, and character-based story-telling. The director made another successful web series “Grahan” in 2021, based on the novel “Chaurasi” written by Satya Vyas, which was appreciated for its sensitive depiction of the 1984 anti-Sikh riots along with an emotionally charged storyline. Choubey made his directorial debut into feature films with “Gandhi & Co.” in 2024, which was an international award-winning coming of age drama that was premiered in various film festivals and garnered huge critical acclaim. Known for combining realistic stories with humane stories, Akshay Choubey has shown amazing versatility in genres including crime thrillers, historical dramas, and socially relevant movies.
