Indian producer and actor Ramana has starred in both lead and supporting parts in Telugu and Tamil movies. He is the son of Tamil actor Vijay Babu, who made his name in Padikkadavan as Rajinikanth’s younger brother. He is the Celebrity Cricket League wicket keeper for the Chennai Rhinos. Up until 2010, he was given the Srinath credit in Telugu movies.
Originally, Ramana was supposed to make his acting debut with the film Kurunji, directed by Pari, for which he also acted with Uma. But in the end, the movie’s production was abandoned. Although Ramana has been working in the industry since 1999.
He made his screen debut in the 2002 Tamil film Style. In 2003, Ramana made his Telugu cinema debut with Utsaham. His name was given as Srinath. The romantic comedy Fools, which was directed by Dasari Narayana Rao, came next.
Subsequently, he works with Anant Nag and Sarath Babu in the film Sankharavam. He then collaborates with Arjun Sarja in Puttintiki Ra Chelli (2004). Additionally, he appears in the cast of the 2004 film Jore alongside Sathyaraj and Sibiraj.
Together with Kutty Radhika, who made her feature film debut in Iyarkai, Ramana, who portrayed the antagonist in Jore, played the key roles in Meesai Madhavan (2004), a successful Malayalam film adapted from Kabooliwala. He performed in the lead parts in Andha Naal Nyabagam, Rightaa Thappaa, and Ayodhya in 2005.
Ramana made his Mollywood debut alongside Mukesh in the comedy Gopalapuranam. He is a budding hero full of promise. Regrettably, neither of his movies did well at the box office. SSS Ezhuthiyatharadi (2008), with Ramana the hero, is a production of good luck flicks.
Inspired by the English thriller Cellular, which a Hindi film named Speed had released around this time last year, comes the action film Nayagan (2008). Later, in the Arun Vijay film Thunichal (2010), Ramana dazzles with his icy villainy.
He played the lead in the critically acclaimed 2011 film Mahaan Kanakku, which was just released. Karu Palaniappan’s Jannal Oram (2013) and Magizh Thirumeni’s Meaghamann (2014) were his following motion pictures. He appeared in Lokesh Kanagaraj’s 2019 film Kaithi as a supporting cast member.
The actors’ close friends Ramana and Nandha founded Rana Productions, which gave rise to the popular Sun Naam Oruvar television series starring Vishal on Sun TV. Next, he starred in the Kannada and Tamil horror movie Number 13 (2020), which was streamed on Amazon Prime Video. In addition to producing his debut film, he plays a negative part in Vishal’s action thriller Laththi (2022).
