Aaditi Pohankar

Biography:

Actress Aaditi Pohankar is from India and has roles in web series and movies in Tamil and Hindi. Her breakout performance came in the Marathi action flick Lai Bhaari (2014) with Riteish Deshmukh. Her roles in the Hindi web series She and Aashram (both 2020–present) brought her more recognition.

Athletes Sudhir and Shobha Pohankar are the parents of Aaditi Pohankar. She competed in athletics for Maharashtra while at school, winning medals in the 100- and 200-meter events.

Pohankar started her career in theater and starred in Kunasathi Kunitari, her first motion picture. Director Nishikant Kamat noticed her in Mumbai during Makarand’s production Time Boy, in which she played a seven-year-old boy.

After seeing her in two days of screen tests, Kamat decided to cast her opposite Riteish Deshmukh in his Marathi film Lai Bhaari (2014), as he was impressed by her demeanor. Pohankar disclosed that throughout the filming, Kamat allowed her the freedom to express her individuality as a performer and really inhabit her role.

Pohankar, who was supervised by Shoojit Sircar, has made appearances in more than twenty brand advertisements and commercials, including ones for Cadbury Munch, Godrej AER, Airtel, Lenskart, and Samsung. In 2020, Pohankar came in at number 47 on The Times Most Desirable Women list.
