Maniktala was born into a Hindu household in Delhi on July 7, 1997. In 2018, she received her English literature degree from Shivaji College, University of Delhi. In her early career, she also worked as a copywriter.
In 2018, Maniktala debuted as an actress in the film School Days. Her first successful role was opposite Ritvik Sahore in Timeliner’s Flames that same year, and she was praised for it.
Her career took a significant turn in 2020 when she costarred with Ishaan Khattar as Lata Mehra in BBC One’s A Suitable Boy. Unaware that the show in question was A Suitable Boy, she was encouraged to try out for a new production by a friend. The critics gave her high marks for her performance.
She costarred with Varun Sharma in Sony LIV’s Chutzpah and Skand Thakur in Netflix’s Feels Like Ishq in 2021. She also starred with Ayush Mehra in the Netflix series How To Fall In Love.
Mumbaikar, in which Maniktala costarred with Vijay Sethupathi and Vikrant Massey, was her first Hindi film. Along with the web series P.I. Meena and Flames Season 3, she also starred opposite Shantanu Maheshwari in Tooth Pari.
In 2024, Maniktala costarred with Lakshya in her second movie, Kill, as Tulika. Sukanya Verma praised her performance, saying, “Tanya’s bright presence quickly achieves the beating heart as well as the gaping hole it leaves without slowing down Kill’s reckless momentum.”
