Sandeep Singh

Biography:

Indian producer Sandeep Singh primarily focuses on Hindi movies. He began his professional life as a journalist and in 2011 became the CEO of Bhansali Productions. In 2015, he started the film production firm Legend Studios. Movies include Mary Kom, Aligarh, Sarabjit, Bhoomi, PM Narendra Modi, and Jhund are among those for which Singh is well-known.

Singh started working for Times Group in 2001 as an entertainment journalist. He contributed stories and columns to the Navbharat Times and Bombay Times. Around this same period, The Times Group launched Radio Mirchi, their own radio station, and Sandeep received his first break as a show producer.

Later on, he was named Radio Mirchi’s chief of entertainment. In 2005, he became the chief of entertainment at Radio City, where he established multiple shows. In 2007, he became the head of national entertainment at BIG FM. In 2008, he co-produced Dancing Queen, his first independent program, with SOL Entertainment on Colors Channel.

In 2011, he became the CEO of Bhansali Productions, the production company owned by Sanjay Leela Bhansali. While working at Bhansali Productions, he co-produced the 2013 television series Saraswatichandra on Star Plus as well as the motion pictures Rowdy Rathore, Shirin Farhad Ki Toh Nikal Padi, Ram Leela, and Mary Kom.

He made his independent production debut in 2015 with the highly regarded movies Aligarh, Sarbjit (2016), Bhoomi (2017), PM Narendra Modi (2019), and Jhund.

In July 2021, he obtained the rights to the biography of business magnate Subrata Roy. In the same year, he also revealed plans for three movies, including a biography of Vinayak Damodar Savarkar called Swatantra Veer Savarkar.

Along with directing a film on Nathuram Godse named Godse, Mahesh Manjrekar, who is also producing a women-focused movie called White, has announced a film called Bal Shivaji, which is being directed by Ravi Jadhav. Sandeep made his directorial debut with Safed, which starred Abhay Verma and Meera Chopra in the lead roles. A. R. Rahman unveiled the movie poster in Cannes.
