Ravikanth Perepu

Ravikanth Perepu, a multifaceted talent in Indian cinema, is renowned for his roles as a film director, screenwriter, and editor, with a significant footprint in Telugu cinema. He was born in Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh, on 11th march 1991 , into a Telugu-speaking family. His parents are Perepu Nageswara Rao and his wife. Perepu’s educational journey led him through Kotak Salesian School for his schooling and Mega Junior College in Visakhapatnam for his intermediate education. He pursued a degree in Chemical Engineering from Gayatri Vidya Parishad College of Engineering, Visakhapatnam.

In November 2017, Ravikanth Perepu tied the knot with Veena Ghantasala, the granddaughter of the legendary singer Ghantasala.

His passion for filmmaking ignited at a young age, as he dreamt of becoming a blockbuster director after being inspired by Mani Ratnam’s “Alaipayuthey” at the tender age of nine. His determination led him to connect with actor Adivi Sesh through Facebook, and in 2012, he made the move to Hyderabad with aspirations of becoming a director. Perepu’s journey began as an assistant director on the 2013 romcom “Kiss,” a film directed by Adivi Sesh himself.

Ravikanth Perepu made a remarkable directorial debut with the thriller “Kshanam” in 2016, featuring Adivi Sesh and Adah Sharma in pivotal roles. This film not only won accolades but also established Sesh as a prominent name in Telugu cinema’s thriller genre.

After a hiatus of nearly four years, Perepu returned with his second directorial venture, “Krishna and His Leela,” in 2020. Produced by Daggubati Suresh Babu and Viacom18 Studios, the film starred Siddu Jonnalagadda, Shraddha Srinath, Seerat Kapoor, and Shalini Vadnikatti in lead roles. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the movie took a unique route by being directly released on Netflix for streaming. Perepu, in collaboration with Siddu, also contributed to the film’s story and handled its editing.
