Biography:

Neeraja Kona, a prominent costume designer and stylist, has made a mark in both Tollywood and Kollywood cinema. Born on April 29, 1983, in Bapatla, Andhra Pradesh, she currently resides in Hyderabad, Telangana.

Her journey began as a stylist assistant on the film “Badshah” in 2013, where she styled Jr NTR and Kajal Aggarwal. However, her breakthrough came with Nithin’s film “Gunde Jaari Gallanthayyinde,” which garnered immense acclaim and success.

Nithin’s recognition propelled Neerja’s career, leading her to work on his subsequent projects, including “Courier Boy Kalyan” and Puri Jagannadh’s “Heart Attack.” A pivotal moment arrived when she became the stylist for Samantha Ruth Prabhu, marking a significant turning point in her career.

Her involvement in movies like “Attarintiki Daredi” and “Ramayya Vasthavayya” earned her praise for her costume designs.

Neerja collaborated with directors such as Trivikram Srinivas, Vamsi Paidipally, Harish Shankar, and V. V. Vinayak, contributing to films like “Romeo Juliet,” “Govindudu Andarivadele,” and various projects of Nitin and Karunakaran. She was part of the styling team for Samantha Prabhu and Sudheer Babu, notably in certain songs of “Aadu Magaadra Bujji.”

Interestingly, Neerja initially began her career as a lyricist for the movie “Thikka.” Her role as a costume designer encompassed works like “Yevadu” for Kajal Aggarwal and Allu Arjun, “Courier Boy Kalyan” for Nithin and Yami Gautam, and several other projects, including “Suriya 36,” “Saamy Square,” “Chal Mohan Ranga,” “Irumbu Thirai,” and “Thaanaa Serndha Koottam,” all released in 2018. She was also behind the costumes seen in “Mersal,” “Ninnu Kori,” “Theeran Adhigaaram Ondru,” and “Velaikkaran” in 2017, and “Pandaga Chesko,” “Alludu Sreenu,” “Rabhasa,” “Power,” and “Oka Laila Kosam” in 2014.

Elevating her reputation, Neerja Kona ventured into the fashion industry with her brand “Kaluva.” Her label resonates with her love for flowing silhouettes, intricate block prints, and breathable cotton wear. “Kaluva” offers an extended color palette to popular fashion trends, catering to a wider audience with affordable clothing options.
