Mannara Chopra, originally named Barbie Handa. She has established herself as a versatile Indian actress and model, actively participating in Telugu, Tamil, Hindi, and Kannada film industries. She shares a familial connection with renowned actresses Priyanka Chopra and Parineeti Chopra, being their paternal cousin.
Mannara marked her Bollywood initiation with the film “Zid” in 2014 and has recently become a participant in the Indian reality TV show, Bigg Boss Season 17, which commenced in October 2023. Born in Ambala Cantonment, Haryana, Mannara’s mother is a jewelry designer, and her father is a lawyer. She is the elder sister of Mitali, who has pursued commerce and is currently working as a fashion stylist.
Mannara received her education at Summer Fields School, New Delhi, and further pursued a BBA degree, complemented by her skills as a fashion designer. Following her education in Delhi, Mannara relocated to Mumbai, where she commenced her professional journey in modeling and advertising. Her notable work includes featuring in 40 commercials, such as Suzuki with Salman Khan, Dulex paints with Farhan Akhtar, and Parle Marie with director Imtaz Ali.
She even appeared in a commercial for Dabur Amla Hair Oil, which significantly boosted her recognition and paved the way for offers in Telugu films. Apart from her foray into acting, Mannara has worked as a fashion designer and assistant choreographer, exhibiting proficiency in dance forms like hip hop and belly dancing.
Currently, she is involved in the shooting of Director Teja’s upcoming film alongside Kajal Aggarwal and has taken on showstopper roles in major Fashion Weeks and events. In 2014, Mannara made her acting debut in Telugu cinema with “Prema Geema Jantha Nai,” portraying a lively college student under her birth name.
Subsequently, she ventured into Bollywood with Anubhav Sinha’s “Zid,” earning mixed reviews for her role as an obsessive lover. Despite the critical response, the film proved to be commercially successful. She then featured in Telugu films like “Jakkanna” (2016), a box office hit, “Thikka” (2016), and “Rogue” (2017), receiving commendable reviews for her performances.
