Ishita Dutta

Biography:

Ishita Dutta Sheth is an Indian actress and model, best known for her roles in the Hindi film “Drishyam” (2015) and its sequel “Drishyam 2” (2022). She has also starred in TV shows such as “Ek Ghar Banaunga,” “Bepanah Pyaar,” and “Thoda sa Baadal Thoda sa Paani.”

She made her acting debut in the 2012 Telugu romantic drama “Chanakyudu,” alongside Tanish. Shortly after, she played Poonam in Star Plus’ primetime show “Ek Ghar Banaunga” (2013) and appeared in Life OK’s “Rishton ka Saudagar – Baazigar” in 2016. In 2015, she starred in the Kannada comedy “Raja Rajendra,” which received mostly positive reviews.

Her Bollywood debut came with the Hindi remake of the Malayalam hit “Drishyam,” where she played Anju alongside Ajay Devgn, Shriya Saran, and Tabu. The film received widespread critical acclaim and was a box office success. Following this, she starred with Kapil Sharma in the 2017 historical comedy-drama “Firangi,” playing the role of Sargi. Other notable films include “Lashtam Pashtam” (2018), “Setters” (2019), directed by Ashwini Chaudhary, and “Blank” (2019). Her significant works also include “Kahaa Toh Tha” (2020) and “Drishyam 2” (2022).

Born on August 26, 1990, Ishita Dutta was raised in Jamshedpur, Jharkhand, in a Bengali Hindu family. She is the younger sister of former Femina Miss India Tanushree Dutta. Ishita completed her schooling at D.B.M.S. English School in Jamshedpur and pursued media studies in Mumbai. She met actor Vatsal Sheth on the set of their show “Rishton Ka Saudagar – Baazigar” in 2016, and they married on November 28, 2017, in Mumbai. The couple welcomed a baby boy on July 19, 2023.
