AR Rahman Impressed By Script, Joins As Co-Producer

Director Shekhar Kapur has revealed that AR Rahman joined Masoom: The Next Generation as both music director and co-producer after being deeply impressed by the film script.

According to Kapur, Rahman listened to this story and was so moved that he personally expressed interest in becoming a co-producer for sure.

The filmmaker confirmed that the sequel is progressing steadily with the script completed and the cast finalized too. Shooting is expected to begin later this year in a great way.

Kapur also shared that work on the music is already underway with one song completed and another currently being developed. He said Rahman’s involvement gives the project added strength and confidence.

The film is a sequel to the 1983 classic Masoom and is expected to feature Naseeruddin Shah, Shabana Azmi, Manoj Bajpayee, Nithya Menen and Kaveri Kapur in key roles if possible.
