After Mahanati, Telugu cinema has gone dull

This year, till now, Telugu Cinema saw three big hits and two of them are said to be classics. One is Rangasthalam and the other is Mahanati. To complete the trio, Bharat Ane Nenu, became equally successful. The Summer box office, because of these three movies saw good collections and even Naa Peru Surya could collect good in the first week but then it couldn’t sustain the interest of the audience. Many thought the year would continue on that promising note.

But after Mahanati, there is not even one film that could put up decent numbers and the disasters list is increasing with each week. This week, Naa Nuvve and Sammohanam released. Among the two, Sammohanam got decent reports and the talk is good too. But the collections even from US market, which highly encourages films like Sammohanam, also did not turn up that great.

Even the domestic markets are not as strong as one expected. Naa Nuvve team has accepted that their movie did not work. On the other hand, Sammohanam team is trying to promote the movie better and more aggressively. We have to wait and see if that will convert into better collections for the movie, as the movie got good reviews and positive word of mouth.
