Horror films have always been coming in Bollywood and these films have got good response from the audience too. Vikram Bhatt has often directed these horror films and his films have been well-received by the audience. Now Vikram Bhatt’s daughter Krishna Bhatt has also made her directorial debut with a horror film like her father.
Story: The story of this film ‘1920 Horrors of the Heart’ revolves around a girl named Meghna, who decides to tell her father about her boyfriend Arjun on her twenty-first birthday. But then she learns that her father has committed suicide. As Meghna tries to get to the bottom of her father’s death, she learns that her mother Radhika, who left her a long time ago, is also responsible for her father’s death.
Meghna plans to use her father’s spirit to destroy her mother Radhika and her new family, but only then she learns that the truth is something else. You will know the rest of the story after watching the film.
Performance: Avika Gaur has tried good acting in Meghna’s character but her character still looks like ‘Balika Vadhu’ somewhere. Avika needs a little sparkle to establish herself on the big screen. Barkha Bisht and Rahul Dev have given good performances, while Ketki Kulkarni’s performance as Meghna’s half-sister is excellent.
Technicalities: Like her father, Krishna kept his genre horror as well, but he also took the name of the film from his father’s film, which makes half the fun and gritty. In this film, Krishna is not seen eating the songs along with the scenes, which spoils the fun a bit. Right from the sets to the background score, everything in the film looks similar to Vikram Bhatt’s films, which kills the curiosity to watch further. Krishna needs to work more on his directorial style for the upcoming films.
Analysis: One has to work hard to make this film horror, the film persists in making it horror till the first half, while gradually the film comes to the horror genre in the second half. Talking about the film’s problem or deficiency, then the story of this film is taken by Krishna from his father’s film.
Looking at the things or places that have been used to make the scene horror in the film, it seems that something is being done forcefully. The story of the film is nothing special, which can appeal to the audience to watch it.
Verdict: Krishna has learned to make horror films from her father, but she could not learn to put good songs in her films like her father and uncle. The film has only one lullaby song which seems to match the film a bit, after which the rest of the songs do not show any effect.
