Will RRR be able to succeed where Baahubali failed?

Rajamouli’s Baahubali franchise was a true pioneer when it came to introducing the concept of pan-Indian films in the country. This has helped many other films and actors try their hand at making pan-Indian films. The franchise even broke previous box-office records in the country. However, there has been one area that even the Baahubali franchise hasn’t been able to breach through.

A prequel series was planned for the Baahubali series, which would be set before the beginning, and Netflix even developed the series for more than one year, with reshoots having been done. Despite that, the series had to be scrapped, putting an end to any series related to the movie franchise, for the foreseeable future.

Now, sources are saying that a similar plan is being drawn up for RRR, with the film’s writer, Vijayendra Prasad, extending the universe of the film, leaving scope for a web series. Given that no one was able to pull off Baahubali, it should now be seen whether RRR’s universe will be able to take off.
