Kareena Kapoor was initially set to make her South Indian film debut in Kannada superstar Yash’s “Toxic.” Her involvement generated significant media attention. However, Kareena Kapoor is no longer part of the project.
The makers of “Toxic: A Fairy Tale For Grown-ups,” directed by Geetu Mohandas and produced by KVN Productions, have opted to cast Nayanthara in Kareena’s role instead.
Reports indicate that Nayanthara not only agreed to take on the role originally intended for Kareena but has also allocated her schedule for the film.
Speculation suggests that Kareena Kapoor’s departure from the project may be attributed to concerns over her salary demands, which were deemed excessive by the producers for the role of the hero’s sister.
In contrast, Nayanthara, known for commanding the highest remuneration among South Indian actresses, has stepped in to replace Kareena. Although Nayanthara is the highest-paid heroine in South India, Kareena reportedly charges nearly double Nayanthara’s rate.
“Toxic” stars Yash in the lead role, with Kiara Advani playing the female lead. Nayanthara’s inclusion brings anticipation to the project, as she assumes a pivotal role originally earmarked for Kareena Kapoor.
This casting decision underscores the dynamics of salary negotiations and casting choices within the film industry.
