Story:

“Bhamakalapam” is a Telugu-language crime comedy thriller movie released in 2022, written and directed by Abhimanyu Tadimeti and produced by SVCC Digital. The cast includes Priyamani, Kishore, John Vijay, Shanthi Rao, and Sharanya Pradeep. The film’s music is composed by Justin Prabhakaran for the soundtrack and Mark K. Robin for the score.

The film draws inspiration from the traditional Andhra Pradesh dance form called Bhamakalapam, which tells the story of Satyabhama, a headstrong and proud character. “Bhamakalapam” premiered on Aha on February 11, 2022.

Plot

The movie begins with a young boy attending a religious gathering where a preacher narrates a tale about a significant egg linked to Jesus’s resurrection. In the present day, a valuable Faberge Easter egg, worth ₹200 crores, is stolen from a museum in Kolkata. This egg holds historical significance, having once belonged to royalty. The thieves, Mani and his accomplice, lose the egg in an accident, leading to dire consequences from their boss, Nayar.

Anupama, a curious neighbor in an apartment complex, lives with her family and enjoys cooking videos on YouTube. She becomes embroiled in the unfolding drama after observing suspicious events through her window and discovering a dead body. In a confrontation with Mani, she defends herself, inadvertently rendering him unconscious. Anupama conceals Mani’s body, only to face accusations from the police and blackmail from Nayar.

As the plot thickens, it is revealed that Feroz’s wife stole the egg under the influence of a religious leader, Daniel Babu, who believes in its divine significance. Anupama, with the help of her friend Shilpa, assists in Daniel’s capture and attempts to retrieve the egg. However, she becomes entangled in a deadly showdown between Nayar and Daniel, narrowly escaping with her life.

In the end, with Daniel in custody and the chaos settled, Anupama learns a lesson about relying on human strength rather than waiting for divine intervention.
