U-Turn got delayed : Pawan Kumar

Pawan Kumar, the director of recent release, U-Turn starring Samantha Akkineni is one of the popular upcoming new age filmmakers in Kannada Industry. He started his career as a writer and then made a romantic comedy, Lifeu Isthine and the movie became a popular hit. On the back of the movie success, he went on social media to rise funding for his movie, Lucia.

People who liked him funded some money and he arranged some more to complete the shoot as he wanted the movie to be made. The movie released as the first crowd funding movie in South India and that is Lucia. It made everyone take notice of his craft as he released it online and also in Theatres. He found good producers but unable to convince them completely, he decided to produce on his own, his next film, U-Turn in Kannada and after almost 2 years, he made in Telugu and Tamil.

He said,” Samantha contacted me after watching U-Turn trailer and showed interest to be a part of the film. As she is busy the movie got delayed but we finished it as soon as we could once the shoot started. She is a very good performer and once, Bhumika also came on-board, our confidence of making our movie back increased. I might direct my next in Telugu for same production house.” The movie is in theatres, running successfully.
