Aadi Saikumar, who hasn’t had a notable hit in nearly five years, returns with Shanmukha, a film blending devotion and drama. Despite past disappointments, this movie, backed by Ravi Basrur’s music, carries some promise. The trailer generated decent interest, offering hope for Aadi’s comeback. Let’s see if this film manages to make an impact!

Shanmukha Review

Shanmukha Movie Story: In Hyderabad, girls mysteriously go missing during the monsoon season. Journalist Sara (Avika Gor) starts investigating the case, and SI Karthik (Aadi Saikumar) joins her to help. As they dig deeper, they discover a connection between the disappearances and supernatural forces. How are the girls going missing? What is the secret behind this mysterious power? And how does Karthik solve the case? Shanmukha unravels this intriguing mystery.

Performances: Aadi Saikumar gives his best despite the film’s technical shortcomings, earning praise for his performance. Even with minor flaws like an ill-fitted wig in the climax, he stands out. Avika Gor, who once impressed as a child actor, seems to be losing her charm with each film, delivering a weak performance. Chirag Jani looks good on screen, but his poor lip sync diminishes his impact. The film has many supporting actors, but none leave a strong impression.

Interestingly, the director himself plays the role of Bullet Babu, which unintentionally becomes a source of comedy. His character, a supposed sharpshooter, trying to aim while standing through a car’s sunroof is outright hilarious. Though not intended, this scene provides more entertainment than most of the film. Overall, weak performances and poor execution overshadow the few decent moments, making the film a forgettable experience.

Technical Aspects: The only technicians who deserve appreciation for this film are the roto and CGI teams. Despite the low budget, they delivered a commendable output. However, Ravi Basrur’s background score failed to make an impact. The climax song was good, but instead of proper picturization, relying on AI-generated visuals diminished its effect.

The cinematography was decent, but most of the flaws lie with the director. Though the core concept had potential, weak storytelling and lack of emotional depth in key scenes led to the film’s failure. As a director, Shannu couldn’t make a lasting impression.

Analysis: A promising concept ruined by poor execution Shanmukha fails on all fronts. Even OTT or TV viewing won’t salvage it. Aadi Saikumar’s efforts go unrewarded.

Verdict: A wasted opportunity with weak execution Shanmukha fails to engage, despite Aadi Saikumar’s sincere efforts.

Bottom Line: Shanmukha had potential, but poor execution ruined the experience.

Rating: 1.5/5
