Telangana theatres badly affected as prices skyrocket

The Andhra Pradesh government caused a major problem for Tollywood when it slashed down the prices of movie tickets by a lot, which resulted in the shutting down of theatres in the case of many, and in the decreased revenue for Tollywood filmmakers, from Andhra Pradesh.

On the other hand, the government of Telangana stepped in at the same time, and began supporting Tollywood in a major way, giving any and all sorts of permissions to filmmakers, and even agreeing to increase the ticket prices so that the producers can make up for the lost money in AP, from Telangana. The situation has now become so gruesome that this act is in turn resulting in a major loss for the theatres in Telangana, as the footfalls have reportedly reduced by a lot.

The really high prices are putting off people, and given that the OTT platforms have risen to a major extent in the last two years, many are willing to wait out and watch a film on OTT, from the comfort of their homes. It is now to be seen what will happen in Telangana, and if ticket prices will be reduced. Because otherwise, things might soon turn worse, according to experts.
