One of the lone few Telugu actresses in T’Town, Chandini Chowdhary has now spoken out about the need to have more Telugu actresses. And rightfully so as currently most actresses in the industry are from Delhi, Mumbai or Chennai. Her film, Kundanapu Bomma, is coming out this Friday and she said, “I don’t know why our filmmakers are not looking at local talent. Telugu girls need to be encouraged and I hope that the trend will change soon,” says Chandini.
Chandini had shot for this film first, but as luck would have it, another film of hers, Ketugadu, released first. Talking about the delay of her Telugu film, she said, “Yes, my debut film was delayed due to unknown reasons, but I am happy now. The story revolves around my character Suchi. Initially, I was scared to play this crucial role. But the director gave me the confidence. I hope I’ve done a good job.”
Chandini is originally from Vizag and she completed completed her Mechanical Engineering from Bengaluru before joining films. She is also a known face in the industry as she has starred in quite a few short films, many of them with Raj Tharun.
