Nagarjuna Akkineni is known for trying new things and also giving newcomers a chance. He took risks that could have easily gone horribly wrong but most of the times, his risks have given him good fruits. He is the man who dared to make a film like Shiva with an young director with no experience and he is the man, who made Mani Ratnam famous in Telugu too, as Geetanjali adding to Nayakudu craze made him a known director in Telugu.
But his trust in the old friends seems to be costing him heavy these days. He tried out a devotional film with K. Raghavendra Rao and that ended up being a flop. He then did a marginal success like Raju Gari Gadhi-2 and as he wanted to make an intense action drama, trusted RGV, who is highly out of form to give him a good film. But Officer, did not even excite the fans of the actor.
He was able to pull 4 to 5 croree opening days even in tough competition with new stars but this Officer, ended up raking just one crore gross. Being a film from Shiva and Antham combination, many thought with Nag, at the helm, RGG will try to give a decent experience, but he again tried something that entirely doesn’t fit to the story and the technical dominance, once again failed him. Fans are hurt by the film and many social media have boycotted the movie too. Well, Nag needs to control the damage sooner than later.
