Dasari Narayana Rao is not one to shy away from controversies. Indeed as a self proclaimed bigwig of Telugu Cinema, who is the do-gooder and the man with solutions. Yet times his skill in managing the crowds and finding solutions has helped, it is his controversial statements that always keep him in the news. He is a great talent no doubt about that but he does seem to have bottled up a lot over the years against the people from industry whom he keep on targetting in his speeches. He was invited for the book launch about the popular and highly talented director, whom Telugu Cinema lost too early, T. Krishna.
The man who made films like Vandemataram, Prathighatana, Repati Pourulu, Devalayam, with stories that had a strong message for people with leftist thoughts. A book written by Ramarao about the directors short but illustruous career and his personal life has been launched by Dasari. In the function, talking about the greatness of T. Krishna and his talent, Dasari got emotional and he said the greatness of these people who believed in their ideals and stayed committed to them all through their life. He mentioned how he got angry with Industry people for not turning up to see the last rites of such a talent. He said it should have been the impact of the man that should have accounted for but not the quantity.
He got emotional mentioning Narayana Murthy, and said he made commitment to himself and even when he was offered a blank cheque he refused. He announced he will bringing out stories and truth about the so called greats and who really deserves to be called great. He exampled about the omission of Krishnaveni, a producer and early heroine, who introduced SV Ranga Rao, NT Rama Rao to screen. Saying that not many know her but few others are credited as their mentors. Looks like another controversy from Dasari Narayana Rao and he said in another year and half, he will release his book.
