TheatreStory:
A Holy Conspiracy is a Bengali-language drama film directed by Vipin Agnihotri and Saibal Mitra, starring Soumitra Chatterjee, Sraman Chatterjee, Amrita Chattopadhyay, and Naseeruddin Shah. Released on July 29, 2022, in both Bengali and English, the story centers on Kunal Joseph Baske, whose father converted to Christianity to provide better social and educational opportunities for him. Kunal, now a science teacher at a Christian missionary school, faces suspension and imprisonment. The courtroom battle pits old allies Reverend Basanta Kumar Chatterjee and Anton De Souza against each other.
Inspired by the 1925 Scopes Monkey Trial, A Holy Conspiracy is an engaging courtroom drama exploring the clash between science and religion. With Naseeruddin Shah representing science and Soumitra Chatterjee representing religion, the film promises to be a compelling watch.
