The Actor Unni Mukundan’s request to have a s**ual assault case heard by the court was denied by the Kerala High Court.
Unni Mukundan, a well-liked young actor, experienced yet another blow on Tuesday when the Kerala High Court ordered the trial against him in a sexual assault case.
The stay the High Court had previously issued on the trial proceedings against him in the same case was lifted in February.
The complainant’s attorney alleged that Unni Mukundan filed a falsified statement declaring that he and the woman had reached a settlement, and the court had voiced its unhappiness after learning of this.
Prior to learning about the settlement, the court had initially granted the stay.
Unni Mukundan presented the affidavit purportedly signed by the woman through lawyer Saiby Jose Kidangoor, who is currently under investigation for allegedly accepting large sums of money from clients to bribe judges.
Later, the complaint claimed that no settlement had been reached at all, and on Tuesday, the court emphasised this.
After the woman complained in 2017, accusing the actor of assault, the trial court case against Mukundan was started. The alleged event allegedly happened in Kochi while the woman was visiting the star for a movie production.
