Katamarayudu is one of the crazy films to release this year. But that doesn’t warrant for distributors and exhibitors to loot common audience love for cinema in a cruel way. The Benefit shows at various centres in two telugu states promise to have never before heard pricing. While fans are celebrating this as craze for their hero, doesn’t that put forth a rather unhealthy precedent?
With one big film exploiting the weakness, many other hero films too will start doing the same and soon it becomes a habit to quote higher pricing to just prove stamina of a mass hero. In Hyderabad, the normal tickets for tomorrow at Sandhya theatre were sold for Rs. 300/- per ticket and black ticketing will have even extra pricing. And Benefit shows tickets are being quoted at insane amounts of Rs. 3000/- to Rs. 2000/- per ticket.
Looking at this tomorrow some other big hero movie will quote the prices at far more insane rates and the film lovers might just stop encouraging such phenomenon in coming days. That would be a healthy sign, but for the benefit show holders who pay huge amounts in advance to distributors for permission, what will they do? Our sincere request to fans would be do not encourage such negative phenomenon in the name of craze and let the tradition of cinema love stay alive with time as well. May be Government should think about such activities and restrict them at decent prices!
