Senior actor and Legend, Kamal Hassan has been vocal about his concerns about the society and has always said he would continue being vocal as he always as a right owing to Constitution of India. He latestly gave unconditional support to Tamil youth for Jallikattu tradition and said he was happy to see such a mature protest by Tamil youth over a touchy issue. Even while the protests turned ugly, he tried to have a talk with Tamil Nadu Chief Minister, O. Panner Selvam about the situation and requested him to bring the situation to calm. He has been continuously tortured by malicious interested people and others during his film releases for reasons only known to them. After all that he even had to come out and voice his concern about the politics in Nadigar Sangam. He supported Vishal and other young actors in taking over from the team led by older actors like Sarath Kumar who are politically active too. After such tremendous pressure, he came out more in support of his strong beliefs.
Now, after the Jallikattu protest, he said he is against Capital Punishment and also banning anything. He said art cannot be banned and traditions too. He opined that banning a hard work of several individuals and bulls means you are just taking away their right from them to lead a life they prefer. He asked PETA to think about different ways to improve condition of animals and their treatment but do not ban the activities. He is coming with his films, Vishwaroopam 2 and Sebash Naidu this year it seems. Several others are in planning too. He also announced he is ready to share screen with Rajni once again if the story and producer permits.
