Anushka Shetty became famous as Jejamma after her movie, Arundhathi became a huge blockbuster for Sankranthi. Post the film, her statute in Telugu Cinema and South Cinema has changed completely and she had been part of films like Baahubali series, Singam series and many biggies. She even did act in many movies that required her to be the main lead of the film.
Now, after Baahubali-2, as the actress had some weight issues, she decided to take a step back from continuous work and decided to concentrate on one film, Bhagamathie. The movie is directed by Ashok who made films like Sukumarudu, Pilla Zamindar. UV Creations is bankrolling the film and the latest teaser showed the gritty and dark nature of the story with an interesting premise.
In a recent poster, the actress looked lost in thoughts against the backdrop of a painting of a woman who looks like her and completely furious against someone. So, does the story have elements like Arundhathi? Is she playing a completely different character and mostly importantly, doing a dual role? Well, we have to wait till 25th of January to know answers as the movie is scheduled for a release on 25th of this month for Republic Day weekend.
