Indian 2 controversy: Shankar files a counter-petition

The rupture between Indian 2 makers and director Shankar is one of the most discussed topics among the film circles in recent times. Reportedly, the management of Lyca Productions approached Madras High Court against Shankar for not completing Indian 2.

The production house has also requested the court to stop Shankar from doing other films as they have already spent Rs 180 crores on Indian 2 which is now left incompleted due to lack of support from Shankar.

Meanwhile, the latest news is that challenging the allegations made by Lyca Productions, director Shankar filed a counter-petition stating that it is Lyca Production and the film’s hero Kamal Haasan, who are responsible for the delay in the film’s shootings.

As per Shankar’s version, while Kamal Haasan moved on to his next project with director Lokesh Kanagaraj, the Lyca management insisted on shooting the rest of the film with minimum crew members which is practically impossible for a large scale film like Indian 2.

Now, this counter-statement from Shankar’s end is creating ripples among the Kollywood bigwigs. Will Court consider Shankar’s Pill? Remains to be seen.
