Vijay V. Moolan

Biography:

Vijay Varghese Moolan is an entrepreneur and film producer from India. Under the Varghese Moolan Pictures banner, he is well-known for producing the critically and financially successful films Odu Raja Odu and Rocketry: The Nambi Effect. He is especially well-known for his production of the later R. Madhavan-directed and co-produced film, which won numerous national and international awards, including the top prize at the 69th National Film Awards for the Best Feature Film in 2023.

In Cochin, Kerala, Vijay Moolan was born into a business family. He continued his study, graduating from Western Michigan University in the United States with a mechanical engineering undergraduate degree and the University of Wales in the United Kingdom with an MBA. Moolan always dreamed of working in the film industry, even though he spent a large portion of his life managing his family business and traveling between his hometown of Kerala, overseas, and the Gulf region. He gained a wide range of abilities and viewpoints from these business and educational experiences, which would help him in his future work as a film producer. “I work for my dad and receive a monthly salary,” Moolan stated.
